History
Trailnet was founded in 1988 to promote the St. Louis Riverfront Trail as one of the City's longest multi-use recreational trails.

Since 1988, Trailnet has led or partnered in development of the bi-state regional trail network including the following trails and trail extensions:

Grant's Trail
St. Louis Riverfront Trail
Ted Jones Trail
West Alton Trail - Illinois:
East St. Louis Heritage Trail
Glen Carbon Trial Extension

Metro-East Levee Trail

Led/partnered in community planning and renovation of the Old Chain of Rocks and Eads Bridges to accommodate bicycle and pedestrian use

Lead non-profit partner in The Confluence project, a 200 square-mile Conservation, Heritage and Recreation corridor being developed along our region’s Great Rivers, from the Arch in St. Louis to Grafton, Illinois

Since 2000 Trailnet has offered group bicycle rides and other outdoor recreational events

Current focus is on encouraging active living throughout the St. Louis bi-state region as a way of life that integrates physical activity into daily routines, resulting in healthy individuals, healthy communities and a healthy, green environment
