This exciting initiative focuses at the policy level to produce the farthest-reaching and longest-term solutions to the obesity epidemic. Trailnet is working with organizations and institutions throughout the St. Louis region to develop and implement policies promoting a healthy community and healthy active lifestyle in low-income communities most vulnerable to developing obesity. Trailnet is working with community leaders and stakeholders to develop a holistic approach to support healthy and active lifestyles through:
- Policy changes
- Community planning
- Social marketing
- Physical projects
Trailnet's goal is to create community environments that encourage people to be healthy and active.
Funding for this project was provided in part by The Missouri Foundation for Health.
