This website page provides you with Women's Cycling resources throughout the St. Louis bi-state area. We hope to encourage women of all ages and levels of experience to enjoy cycling more often!
The Great Rivers Greenway District
The Great Rivers Greenway District is the public organization leading the development of a region-wide system of interconnected greenways, parks and trails known as the River Ring, focuses on details that will appeal to women cyclists. Evenly paved trails are engineered and designed to offer a smooth ride, avoid sharp turns and provide convenient rest stops, often including interpretive signage, drinking fountains, benches, restrooms and other amenities. In addition, newly installed bridges enable riders to avoid traffic and electric signals have been installed at busy intersections. When complete, the River Ring will join two states and cover an area of 1,216 square miles. The Greenway District was established in November 2000 by the successful passage of the Clean Water, Safe Parks and Community Trails Initiative (Proposition C) in St. Louis City, St. Louis County and St. Charles County, Missouri.
